MUD gas: its side and yours
MUD supplies natural gas in the Omaha metro (more than 244,000 gas customers across its system). MUD maintains the main, service line, regulator and meter; the property owner owns and maintains the fuel lines on the house side of the meter, including buried ones, which Nebraska 811 does not locate. If you smell gas, leave first, then call MUD at 402-554-7777 or 911.

Sewer billing
Leaks to the drain still bill sewer
The “City of Omaha Sewer Charges” line on the MUD bill is a city user fee with a fixed part and a part based on water use. Omaha Public Works says it cannot forgive the bill for a leaking or running fixture, and water from a broken pipe is charged if it went to the sewer but not if it went into the ground.
