Council Bluffs’ floodplain chapter (Ch. 13.25) requires new or substantially improved homes in the 100-year floodplain to have the lowest floor, basement included, at least one foot above the 100-year flood level. A flood-prone enclosed area below that floor is only left out of that measure if, among other conditions, machinery such as the water heater and furnace sits at least a foot above the flood level.

Clogged Drain
Arriving on-site, we found that the washer line was backing up into the floor drain, indicating a blockage in the branch line leading to the foundation. After inspecting the system, we effectively cleared the buildup in the cable branch line. Once finished, everything in the house was functioning properly, and we confirmed that water was draining efficiently.
